PERTY SUGAR QUEEN, 2004 AQHA Bay Mare

Pedigree-  Sire: Poco Sugar Frost by Drop of Frost (the 1986 Dual Crown Snaffle Bit Futurity Champion and a Finalist in other futurities, as well as, a NRCHA money earner) an own son of Doc's Jack Frost (a 3 time AQHA High-point Cutting Horse Sire and sire of 62 Performance Point Earners with 21 ROMs).  Drop of Sugar, the paternal grand dam has produced ROM Race.  Dam: Perty Silver Queen by Perty Buck Poco an own son of Mr. Blackburn 41.

Sugar is one of those one in a million horses that I can not believe I found.  She has size, athletic ability, and above all the best disposition and heart possible.  When she was two this horse was the go to horse for giving my 2 yr old daughter a ride.  I know it sounds crazy but she is so honest and sane it is a miracle.  She will ride out solo or with a crowd; track and hunt cattle; sort cattle in the working corrals; poor on the speed or slow it down; sit for a month and pick up where she left off.  We all fight over who she really belongs to but I have to allow her to be the family horse since she takes care of everybody.

Sugar at 4, Michael and Mia

Not for Sale

Sugar was a big 2 year old.

Sugar at 2, she is very gentle, but not lazy, and will stick to a cow with grit.  This is, and was, my dreamhorse purchased from Grace Warner.  Sugar will be a "Head Horse" and will eventually show in Ranch Versatility.

 Not for Sale

ROCKIN BUCK POCO, 2005 AQHA Buckskin Gelding

Pedigree- Sire: Rockin R World (shown in Open Halter and Trail also in Amateur Reining - last known info he had started Cutting Training) by Aledo Blue an own son of Checkmate King Glo.  Peppy's Bar Flit the  paternal grand-dam, is an own daughter of Flit Bar who produced 5 AQHA Champions + 30 ROM, he is the sire of Firewater Flit.  Dam: Bucks Pixie Skip by Mr. Poco Blakburn 017 (shown in Open Reining) an own son of Perty Buck Poco.

Can you say FLASHY?  Rocko is that horse that I had to have.  He has an amazing disposition and unbelievable athletic ability and always catches everyones attention ("who is he?", "what is his story?", "what are you going to do with him?").

I purchased Rocko as a yearling and I am not really sure if I picked him or if he picked me.   He was purchased to be a performance horse and he will make one.  He has good bone, low hocks, a nice strong hip, and a great neck that ties cleanly into a small handsome head.  This guy has had all of the ground work done, has been driven, saddled, bridled, and ridden.  He has been exposed to cattle, had a rope swung off him and all around him.  Rocko is meant to be an arena horse and with his bloodlines and athletic ability he would be suited to many events.  [See a half brother on the DC Western Homestead Site under Barrel Horses - Classifieds]

I would keep him forever but it would not be fair as I was fooling myself that I would have time to pursue competition now with full time work and a 5 yr old child.  I sadly offer this athletic Buckskin Gelding for sale.

Rocko at 3 yrs and Mike Jr. at 15 yrs

Rocko October 2008.  He is 14.3 hands and approx. 1100 lbs.

Sadly offered for sale  - See a few more pictures under the "Photo Gallery" page and the "Horses Listed For Sale Page". $4,500 (temporary reduction)

MY SHAMLESS PASSION, 2003 APHA Solid Chestnut Gelding with a Flaxen mane and tail

Pedigree- Sire: Black Passion(ROMs in heading, heeling, reining, & steer stopping also  shown in western pleasure & halter) by Obsessed To Impress (World Champion), Dam: Be Joyful by Mr Shameless out of Kims Triple Joy by Triple Chick (AAAT).

Houston is a handsome character and boy this guy can stop!  The only reason I can possibly sell Rocko is because this horse, like Sugar, can sit and then get pulled out and go.  He has size and will definitely fit in as an all around family horse .  Houston can do the pleasure horse jog and lope; he can come out of a box and catch a steer; he can sit down and slide to a stop; lay down on command; ride down the trail solo or with a group and the list goes on and on.  You will probably see him in a few small shows, possibly next year, when my daughter starts showing and he may just end up at a high school rodeo with my son.   [See more pictures on the "Photo Gallery" page]

Houston at 5 yrs sharing a little chuckle

Not for Sale (may consider sale to right situation and reasonable offer- 1-horse must go and it won't be Sugar)

Houston looking like "Malibu Ken" or a bit like his "grand sire" while just grazing in the pen.
